Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is a notable waterpark venue located in New Braunfels, Texas. The Henry family founded the park, which formally opened on August 2, 1979, building upon the existing Landa Resort. Its name, translating to “slippery road” in German, acknowledges the region’s German cultural legacy. Over its history, the park has introduced several water ride innovations, such as the first inland surfing ride and uphill water coasters. Schlitterbahn New Braunfels operates seasonally, with its resort facilities remaining open year-round.
