Just For Fun: Town & Country Mall Exterior
445 E Palatine Rd, Arlington Heights, Illinois, 60004
Just for Fun was a popular arcade located within the Town & Country Mall in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Situated adjacent to the movie theater, it became a favorite spot for both children and adults, offering a variety of arcade games and a notable ticket/prize counter. In the 1990s, “Just for Fun” served as a location for Konami and Bally-Midway to test new games, including titles like X-Men and Mortal Kombat.
The Town & Country Mall faced a decline in the early 2000s, leading to the closure of many of its establishments, including Just for Fun. Its final newspaper mention is a holiday ad from November 1999. By 2004, the mall had undergone significant transformations, with parts being converted into a strip center. It remains an active strip mall today.
The classic wood-grained Rowe BC-25 token machine at Tokens & Tankards once stood proudly at Just for Fun, dispensing tokens.
