J & D’s Place

Operating as a lively bar and grill in Worthington, Ohio, from at least May 2019 until its closure in December 2023, J & D’s Place offered a community hub for local entertainment. Situated at 480 East Wilson Bridge Road, the establishment was recognized for its welcoming atmosphere, diverse menu, and friendly staff, cultivating a space that many patrons described as a second home. The venue provided a variety of recreational amenities including pinball, billiards, and darts, complementing a robust schedule of live music and performances.

J & D’s Place was integral to the local social fabric, functioning as a hotspot for socializing and events such as comedy nights and blues jams. The owner’s efforts were focused on “reviving a spot that had been such a Northern Columbus icon,” suggesting a continuation of the location’s historical significance as a community gathering place. Following its closure, the location was succeeded by Shakers Public House, which opened in spring 2024.
