An Aladdin’s Castle arcade once operated as a popular entertainment destination within the Irving Mall, which opened in 1971 at the intersection of Airport Freeway and Belt Line Road. As a tenant of the mall, this venue was part of a national chain of arcades known for providing a family-friendly amusement environment inside shopping centers. This location was a fixture for shoppers and local residents for a number of years before it permanently closed. The national Aladdin’s Castle franchise saw most of its arcades shut down by the late 1990s and early 2000s.
