Southbridge Mall opened in 1985 in Mason City, Iowa, and one of its opening businesses was Aladdin’s Castle. For decades it remained a fixture of the mall. Local newspaper clippings from 1988 advertise its newest games at the time: Ridge Racer and NBA Jam.
The arcade closed in 2007, as the mall’s struggles to remain relevant began to peak.

Southbridge Mall opened in 1985, and Aladdin’s Castle was one of the first businesses in the new mall.
NBA Jam and Ridge Racer were released in 1993, and both games were at this location.
Aladdin’s Castle closed in about 2007, they were without an attendant for a few years before this. The mall has been struggling for most of the current century. It still is as of 2026, the mall has about 5 tenants. The space has not had any long-term tenants since Aladdin’s Castle closed.
