Located at 2003 San Pedro Avenue, Bananas is a legendary pool hall that has been a long-standing part of San Antonio’s local culture. Originally opened in the 1970s by Frank “Bananas” Rodriguez, it became a well-known playground for serious pool players for decades. After closing its doors in 2015, the famed hall was purchased, renovated, and reopened in February 2018 by new owners dedicated to reviving its classic atmosphere. Despite facing significant challenges that forced its temporary closure during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the establishment has since resumed operations. Today, Bananas continues to serve the community, featuring numerous pool tables and a classic neighborhood bar ambiance.
