The Gold Mine arcade in Fort Myers, Florida, was part of a national chain of arcades operated by Nickels and Dimes Incorporated, known for their distinctive mineshaft theme. This location was situated within the Edison Mall at 4125 Cleveland Avenue South. The Gold Mine chain began operations in 1973 and eventually closed down all its locations or converted them to the Tilt arcade brand. The Fort Myers establishment ceased operations around or before the chain’s overall closure in 2009, with anecdotal evidence suggesting its closure was influenced by a significant local incident.
