Magic Carpet Golf was a beloved miniature golf and arcade complex located in Tucson, Arizona, opening its unique courses to the public in 1970. Designed by Lee Koplin with figures by Michael Kautza, the venue was renowned for its two 18-hole courses adorned with large, whimsical concrete statues depicting creatures like dinosaurs, sphinxes, and a towering monkey. This iconic establishment served as a cherished spot for entertainment and recreation for decades before its permanent closure in January 2008. Following its closure, many of the distinctive statues were salvaged and relocated across Tucson, becoming enduring local landmarks.
