Water Slide World, located in Lake George, New York, was a popular summer amusement destination that first opened its gates in 1979. Situated on the site of a former drive-in movie theater, it grew to feature over 35 water slides and attractions. In 1984, the park introduced what was advertised as the first wave pool in New York State. Water Slide World ceased operations after the 2017 season and remained closed following the unexpected passing of its owner in May 2018. The site was subsequently sold and redeveloped for housing and retail, marking the end of a nearly four-decade run for this regional attraction.
