The location at 1600 Exposition Blvd in Sacramento, California, first opened in 1980 as WaterWorld USA. This water park operated under its original name until it was rebranded as Six Flags Waterworld in 2003, and later as Raging Waters Sacramento in May 2007 after a change in operators. Palace Entertainment, the final operator under the Raging Waters name, closed the park in November 2022. The site is currently vacant as Cal Expo seeks new development proposals, following a terminated lease for a planned new water park.
