Located within the Old Capitol Mall, Aladdin’s Castle was a popular video arcade in Iowa City during the 1980s. Part of a large national chain, it was a well-known destination for arcade gaming and a common feature in shopping malls of that era. The arcade operated with its own distinct tokens for gameplay, a characteristic of the brand. Like the rest of the chain, the Iowa City location is now permanently closed, with the final U.S. location being rebranded in 2021.
