Aladdin’s Castle: Westdale Mall

Aladdin’s Castle was a popular video arcade located within Cedar Rapids’ Westdale Mall. As a franchise of the well-known national chain, it was a frequent destination for shoppers and a hub of entertainment within the mall since the shopping center’s opening in 1979. The arcade, along with the other remaining interior tenants, permanently closed when Westdale Mall was shut down for redevelopment in March 2014. This location was one of many Aladdin’s Castle arcades that served as popular gathering spots for youth inside American malls.
