Love this site! I’m pouring through my keepsakes to see what I can add! Should we add the Magic Edge Center or does that push us beyond the Arcade category?
Hey, Scott – we’re a little torn on Magic Edge as it certainly wasn’t a “traditional” game space in the early 90s (I don’t believe they ever had any traditional “coin-op” games at the site, did they…?) Obviously, we’ve held back on listing it so far, but it WAS a great ENTERTAINMENT center… and a significant part of NAMCO’s motivation to establish the early Magic Edge Centers – both in Mountain View and Tokyo – was to explore the “next” evolutionary step for out-of-home entertainment via even greater immersive simulation/play! In that light, we could certainly view MAGIC EDGE as the “next level of play!” What do you think??

No – they never had any coin-op games there. It could have a story all it’s own.
