Following the closure of the original Grand-Prix Race-O-Rama in Davie, FL a year earlier, founder Jules Ross and partner Ron Mogerman returned with a vengeance. The two secured property in Dania Beach, FL to open the new Grand-Prix Race-O-Rama with support from the local municipality and additional land already zoned for future expansion.

The new Grand-Prix Race-O-Rama came out swinging from the onset with a massive castle-like entrance, more go-karts, nearly 1,000 arcade games, pinball, animatronic shows, restaurant, laser tag and even for a time a BMX track. The adjacent property owned by Ross and Mogerman eventually expanded to Grand Prix Golf-O-Rama mini golf course replacing the short lived BMX track. The establishment became a staple of greater Ft. Lauderdale area for over a decade. Before its sale, Grand Prix was awarded the Guinness World Record for having a staggering 1,200 arcade games at their 24-hour arcade facility.

In 1998 Ross and Mogerman sold Grand-Prix Race-O-Rama to Palace Entertainment which rebranded Grand-Prix Race-O-Rama into its Boomers franchise.
